Bio

I am a first-year student at New York University, majoring in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. I aspire to become a Speech-Language Pathologist, and to have the joy and privilege of working with special needs children. I was inspired to pursue speech therapy by two very special little boys in my life, who are members of the Down Syndrome and Autistic communities, respectively, so I hope to focus my future research and practice on these populations. Although I believe that education is extremely important and foundational for both professional and personal success, I also seek out as many diverse opportunities as possible to learn new things and broaden my horizons. I hope to become involved in research soon, and plan on spending time studying abroad.

In my free time, I love hanging out with my friends and family. Whether we’re having a hot chocolate/movie night in our dorms, exploring NYC, or going out for some yummy food, I’m my happiest when I’m with my favorite people! My favorite food is anything sweet, especially milkshakes and cheesecake. Life gets stressful and hectic, but I try to always keep things in perspective and remember that hard work pays off. I think it’s so important to find whatever it is that you feel passionately about, and pursue it. I live by the motto of if you can dream it, you can do it!
